My credit card was used online without my consent to purnchase the goods to the amount of R22286.00. Even though they could see that the names and address that are appearing on the invoice differs from mine, they refused to pay me back.

I have a credit card with nedbank and I was de*****ed an amount of R22286.00, that was paid to the company called Take a Lot. I went to the bank after I received the message that R6487.00 is paid to company called Take a Lot on the 21-06-2017 as an online purchase. To my surprise I later found that the previous day on the 20-06-2017, an amount of R15799.00 was also paid to the same company called Take a Lot. I went to the bank and I was told that the matter is transferred to the bank's ***** Department and that I will get the response by the 14-06-2017. The response that I got from the bank is that: "For an on-line transaction to be authenticated (3rd secure), the cardholder must in some way or form authorise the transaction. In this instance a USSD message was sent to your cell number+2783..........with the message"nedbank Pay ZAR 15799.00 to Takealot. Reject if not your transaction 1-accept 9-Reject" requiring your response of either the number 1 for approval or the number 9 to Reject the transaction. If the Approve- It message was not responded to in time and timed out, a follow up OTP SMS was sent to your cellphone as follows"Enter OTP 632722 to pay ZAR 15799.00 to Takealot. If you are not purchasing call ********** 111. Do not share this OTP with anyone. Nedbank" which you were required to enter this pin into the security field. At this point you supp**** the pin to a third party and in that compromised your own account.......we therefore regret that we cannot assist you further in this regard.

My experience is that my money is never save with the bank because even the OTPs that they are talking about, I never received them and I have never authorised any transaction or compromised any pin. I can even avail my phone for further investigation. Unfortunately I m left with the debt and the bank is passing the blame to me and I wonder how many more people with Nedbank Credit Cards are yet to loose money to Takealot and Nedbank.
