My ***** Case – Still No Accountability Since December 2024

Dear Nedbank ***** Department,

I am writing this email with deep frustration, disappointment, and frankly, disgust at how your institution has handled (or rather, failed to handle) my ***** case that was reported back in December 2024 through my bank, Capitec.

To be very clear – I made a payment to a supposed supplier for goods and services. I later discovered that this so-called supplier was in fact a *****ulent operation that banked with your institution, Nedbank. How did such a company, using a CK number linked to a business that has long been closed, manage to open a fully operational bank account under your watch?

I verified the CK number with a professional accountant, and the result was crystal clear: the company was deregistered. So again I ask, who at Nedbank allowed these *****sters to open a bank account in the name of a non-existent, closed company? What checks, if any, were done? Was this blatant negligence, or complicity?

Now, to add insult to injury, it has been over six months, and Nedbank has still not provided any feedback or resolution to Capitec regarding this ***** case. The delay is beyond unacceptable – it’s outrageous. It makes it appear as though Nedbank is stalling in order to keep my ****** funds, rather than taking any real action to resolve the matter.

At this point, I am starting to believe that Nedbank is protecting ********s, or worse, benefiting from their operations. The complete lack of urgency and accountability from your side is shameful.

I demand a full and immediate explanation of:

How this *****ulent account was opened with a deregistered CK/company name. What action has been taken since December 2024 to trace and recover the funds. Why my bank, Capitec, has received no substantive response from you in over half a year. If I do not receive a formal response within 7 days, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter further — including reporting Nedbank to the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), the Banking Ombudsman, and taking legal action if necessary.

I expect answers — not more silence, not more excuses.

Disgusted,
