Milking clients anyway possible
I am really so sad to do this to Nedbank as just the other day i was commending their service and saying to a friend that I have never had any issues with Nedbank. Unfortunately today that all changed and they too went for the mentality of "lets see how much we can milk our customers, regardless of their situation".
Money has recently been very tight for me and i have missed a few payment on my Credit Card with Nedbank. After speaking with them i have made a payment arrangement to pay of the amount monthly. They did hand the account over to their legal department which is fair.
Today i called in to request statements for my credit card as i am busy with my tax and did not receive all my Credit card statements for the 2018/2019 tax year. They proceeded to tell me that they can only provide me the latest 3 months statements free of charge because my account is with legal and then i will need to pay for any other statements as they archive the statements. Please explain what you mean by archive because I know you don't mean that you archive them in a big warehouse in the 21st century, no doubt they are just as accessible as the 3 free statements. It will most probably be on a cloud type system where someone will have to access the system and click a few buttons and click send.
I had this fight with Standard Bank last year and subsequently they now offer 2 years free statements, well done Standard Bank. I get it that my account is with legal but the fact that i was struggling to pay off my credit card account means that money was tight and now as a big slap in the face you want to charge me for sending me a simple email.
Very disappointed Nedbank, there are more options around now than ever to bank elsewhere. Unfortunately once I have sorted this Credit card out with Nedbank I will be cancelling all three of my accounts with you as well as moving my vehicle finance elsewhere. Other banks don't try rip of their clients by charging for bank statements, Nedbank you know who they are and you need to get on the bus as the way banking is changing and these old school ways of nailing your clients just wont fly anymore. The customer is way more informed than ever.
