Mfc Nedbank and Jp Collection

I am a first-time car owner with Nedbank's car finance house, MFC. This year, I missed one and a half payments and was in arrears of about 7600. a certain collector representing MFC called my cell and quickly hung up when I picked up then immediately texted me on WhatsApp stating that the bank had instructed him to collect the car(asset). As a first-time car buyer with these people, I was just confused, I didn't know how to respond so I said no worries, I'm getting paid end of the following week I will pay the whole amount, and get out of the arrears. To this, he said no we will give you two days to come up with the money or we take the car.

After 2 days an MFC rep by the name of Tebogo called me to let me know that they were sending some guys from JP Collectors to get the car but assured me I had nothing to worry about cause its just for safekeeping until I got paid. Not knowing that he was playing me, this put me at ease a bit. Then sure enough JP Collectors came to my residence, parked outside, and called me to let me know they had arrived. when I stepped out, I found them waiting for me with papers and pens on hand.

they then assured me they have to take the asset for safekeeping but I have to sign this document saying I authorize them to simply take it until I am paid, all this in the name of "safekeeping". So I signed the paper then they took the car. later that week I got paid so I went to collect from MFC but when I got there I was told that for me to get my car I had to pay R20 000.00. When I told them that I didn't have that kind of money they assured me that they would auction it soon enough. My heart almost came to a stop. turns out they wanted me to pay for storage and other expenses and next month's installment as well. the individuals I dealt with at this time were cold, rude, and dismissive, I realized that this was more than bad service I was faced with a ******** enterprise that used the law to its advantage against unsuspecting consumers who are new to the process. Turns out I was being coerced into signing a document that stated that I couldn't afford the car and that I was sending it to be auctioned. I borrowed money from a friend to pay them to give me back the car from 7600 to 20k
