MFC Has Ignored My Payment Relief Requests and Failed to Address My Financial Circumstances

I am extremely disappointed with the way MFC has handled my requests for payment relief and the manner in which I have been treated as a client.

My financial circumstances changed following a reduction in my income, and I approached MFC on several occasions to request assistance with my vehicle finance instalments. I sent emails explaining my circumstances and provided supporting documentation. Despite these efforts, I have not received proper written feedback addressing my requests or explaining why further payment relief has not been considered.

The only relief I received was a one-month payment break after an MFC agent contacted me. During this conversation, I was told to find a way to pay off my debt and ensure that I had money available to pay for the vehicle this month.

I found this response rude, insensitive and unacceptable. I had already explained that I was experiencing financial difficulties and was seeking assistance. Instead of receiving meaningful guidance or confirmation that my affordability had been properly assessed, I was essentially told to find the money to pay.

How can MFC expect me to meet an instalment without properly assessing my current financial circumstances and addressing the affordability concerns I have repeatedly raised?

A one-month payment break does not resolve an ongoing financial difficulty. It merely postpones the problem. I am unable to afford the vehicle instalment again this month, and I have made repeated attempts to engage with MFC in good faith to find a sustainable solution.

What concerns me most is that my previous emails and supporting documents appear to have been completely disregarded. I have not received a proper written response addressing the information I submitted. Is this how MFC treats clients who proactively communicate their financial difficulties and ask for assistance?

The lack of communication and the manner in which my concerns have been handled have left me feeling that MFC is not genuinely interested in considering my circumstances or finding a workable solution.

I also require all further communication about this matter to take place in writing via email, as I am not available to take calls. I want a clear written record of MFC's decisions and the reasons behind them.

WHAT I WANT FROM MFC:

1. A review of my previous emails and all supporting documents already submitted. 2. Written feedback explaining the outcome of my previous requests for payment relief. 3. A proper reassessment of my affordability in light of my reduced income. 4. Consideration of further payment relief or a reasonable alternative arrangement based on what I can realistically afford. 5. A review of the agent's conduct and the manner in which my concerns were addressed. 6. Confirmation that all further communication will take place in writing via email.

I am extremely dissatisfied that, despite my repeated attempts to resolve this matter directly, I remain without a sustainable solution. I am concerned that MFC does not appear to take my complaints or the possibility of Ombudsman escalation seriously.

I will be taking further action through the relevant Ombudsman and other appropriate channels if MFC continues to disregard my concerns or fails to provide a meaningful response.

I am not refusing to engage with MFC. I am asking for my circumstances to be properly considered and for a realistic solution to be explored instead of being told to find money that I do not have.

I hope that making this complaint public will prompt MFC to review how my case has been handled, respond to my previous correspondence and engage with me professionally to find a fair and sustainable way forward.
