Merchants to the demise of clients??

I'm very unhappy as i went shopping and had enough funds to purchase some items and swiped at various places. I went to Baby boom in Bellaires on the 30 april. I did all the shopping and still had a balance and thought that i was a bit savvy with my spending. On the 4th of May all of a sudden i get a deduction and Honouring fees as I used up the money in the account.I called the call centre at Nedbank and they advised me its a normal thing to Merchant to even bank 30 days later. This is to the demise of the client as its difficult to keep track of all transactions thats why we have technology . I would have prefered that the bank hold the amount out of my account and i can shop without worrying . now i have to worry by doing accounting 101 for evey purchase made to make sure the funds are avaialable should a Lazy Merchant bank a good 30 days later. I feel to protect client The bank should force an immediate deduction or the Merchant forfeits if they come days later.

This is not fair to the client and It pre empts me to move to FNB as my mother and wife have moved there and only hear good stories. My patients with Nedbank has worn thin.

Now i am in anegative with Honoury fees as a result of poor banking and nonsense technology. Very unhappy.
