Making Rules as to what Constitutes legal Tender

I am annoyed enough to send in a complaint. Nedbank have decided that they won't deal in 1c and 2c coins. Bully for them but they ARE still LEGAL Tender. If you won't accept coins of the realm, is banking the right industry for you?<br> <br> Cashiers always tell me that they can't accept a payment for say, R6788.97. The .02 is a terrible problem for them. Initially they rounded it down rather than give change - that must stop immediately.<br> <br> Now, if I give them .02 they give it back but they find it a huge problem to credit the account I am paying with anything that doesn't end in zero or five. Why should I be subject to eye rolling and causing queues whilst the cashier tries to figure out how to deal with the problem.<br> <br> Once, an account was rounded down by 10c meaning that the account I was trying to settle didn't zero balance and I could well have had the booking cancelled.<br> <br> If a supplier sends me an invoice for R5.467.61 why must I, just for the sake of Nedbank's ******** convenience, get back to my shop and alter my accounts to reflect the totals Nedbank saw fit to capture.<br> <br> I sent an mail to Sandra, the cashier manager and she didn't reply. Wake up!
