Making life difficult and charging for it

My bank account at Nedbank has been flagged dormant because of inactivity for some time. I realised this only when I wanted to pay some of my bills from my personal bank account today that I am unable to do any transactions. I only realised the nature of the problem after speaking to my business services consultant who advised me to go into the branch and deposit a small amount into the account to activate it again.

So I took some time out of my self-employed working schedule to deposit the fifty rand I had on me into my personal account to get it working again. I also spoke to the branch manager that explained to me that I need to "action something" (Nedbank speak for transact) every month otherwise my account will be rendered unusable again by their system. I explained to her that the bank kept on charging me a maintenance fee during all the months that my account was useless and I found it to be unfair. The manager agreed with me and refunded me the bank charges for the months that my account was "dormant". I am thankful for that and commend the branch manager for being kind and courteous during my ranting. I was quite upset at the time.

So all was well until I tried to repeat the transactions of this morning 10 minutes ago and my account is still not working. I did everything I was told to do by the bank officials but in spite of spending my valuable time doing a ludicrous deposit of my own money into my own account the effort resulted in no resolve at all.

Thank you Nedbank. I say this on account of not wanting to swear on a public forum.
