"Make Things Happen" Seem to apply only to their clients, not themselves...

A few years ago I app**** for and got a Nedbank Personal Loan.

I made a couple of monthly payments and soon afterwards lost my job and was unable to make the monthly minimum payments on the loan.

Time passed and eventually I discovered that a judgement against my name was instated for this account.

A couple of months ago I contacted them as I always knew it was my respnsibility to settle this account and wanted to clear my name, as no credit provider wanted to touch me with this judgement reflecting against my name.

I started making monthly installments of R1000.00

Eventually I got enough money together to settle the outstanding balance in full so I contacted NRB Risk Solutions (PTY) LTD which is the company handling the matter on behalf of Nedbank. I asked what the current outstanding balance on this account was.

To my suprise I was offered a decent settlement discount and made arrangements to settle this amount right away.

So on the 27th of May 2016 I paid the full outstanding amount and was excited that this nightmare was finally over, I could clear my name and get my life back again.

The lady advised me that they will probably help me with a paid up letter in the second week of June.

So from the second week in June I started following up on when I can receive this letter as I learned that I could simply hand this to all the ITC's and have this judgement removed from my name within 7 days according to the Amnesty Act of 2014.

Every single time I phoned in, I get the same story over and over, "I am still waiting for your settlement letter, sir."

This morning was the last time I followed up, and again, after receiving the same story of "we're still waiting for your settlement letter, sir" I mentioned taking this matter further and possibly log a complaint with the NCR since the Amnesty Act of 2014 states that all ITC's should be informed of this judgement being paid up within 7 days of the final payment, and then those ITC's have another 7 days to remove the judgement from my name.

The lady asked if I wanted to speak to her manager, to which I rep**** "yes please."

While holding on the line, I heard the lady telling her manager that the guy is asking about his paid up letter and is threatening to take this matter to the NCR, to which I heard the manager reply "ag man, sy gat! Se vir hom ek sal hom oor 'n uur terugbel. Ek is gou besig met...ietsie."

She came back and said her manager is really busy with something at the moment on their system, she will contact you within an hour.

I told her to please tell her manager that I said it's utterly unprofessional when a client makes an enquiry, to say "ag man, sy gat!".

"Okay sir, I will tell her that." is what her reply was.

Do they understand that my life has been to hell and back during this time the judgement has been on my name? Do they know I did everything in my ability to pay off this outstanding amount on my name and have been dreaming for this day to come when I can finally pay off the full outstanding balance and claim back my life that was so quickly taken away from me when I didn't even have food on the table?

Come on Nedbank, you are a trusted financial institution in South Africa. Your slogan reads "make things happen" but it seems that only applies to your clients and not you as THEIR service provider?

Why do you make use of what I believe is not even a registered financial service provider such as NRB Risk Solutions (PTY) LTD who is *********** to say the least, lacking the necessary communication s****s to handle such matters? "Nee man sy gat!" - is this a company you want to be associated with? And you want South Africans to trust you with their money?

I've already taken all my business and personal banking away from you. All I ask is that you fulfill your duty and clear my name so I can have my life back, please.
