Loan enquiry Nedbank

I once took out a loan with them in 2018 to pay for my studies. At the time I took it I was permanently employed, in 2020 later I got retreched unfortunately there were no packages offered. I than claimed on insurance that came with the loan but it only paid 5% of the loan. I got something in 2021 made other arrangements to pay monthly , until today the loan amount never goes down keeps going up. When I call to find out why they say it's legal fees accumulated on the loan not the actual loan repayment. Please kindly help in finding out if I'm not being taken advantage of
