My husband and I visited Cavendish Square Claremont branch on 8 January '19 applying for a second homeloan for renovations and consolidation of small accounts. We were seen by someone and we sat for 30 min going through income and expenditure, was told to email all the necessary documents to her to mitigate the second home loan, which i did first day of my annual leave, 9th Jan. We were assured by Sherri that we will know in 1 days time the outcome but can be sure that we will have R26k+ as that reflected as already available. We heard nothing from the person who assisited us, so i phoned Friday morning, 12 Jan'19 and she said that there was a back log with credit department and she would call me later that same day. No call came. Monday 14 Jan i called her again, this time she was with the client all 4 times i tried calling. I then called head office / home loans department to find out how far our application was. To my surprise, the agent advised that an application was never sent by the branch. I was very confused and said there must be some kind of mistake as she assured us that the application went through and that there was a back log with credit. I emailed her querying what the homeloans department said and within 2 minutes of my email i got the following response ... **** Good day I am still with a client and have not been able to return calls as yet, your application declined upfront and I have appealed the application to our sales manager for review. I am still awaiting the response. To advise if we may proceed. The reason for the decline is because of the account in arrears. In my appeal I have included all the additional income and noted that you were unemployed but you are servicing the debt repayment monthly since employment and I also noted that with the funds the account would be settled in full and that you recently acquired vehicle finance. This is an out of scope application so no reference number generated. I have included my manager Z*** as she is aware of your application. Regards. I thanked her and said that i appreciated her effort and would wait on feedback. Wednesday 16 Jan"19 I returned from my leave and i emailed her again and asked if she had received any feedback from her sales manager as mentioned in her email. Once again, no reply. Today, 19 Jan '19, nearly 2weeks later, we call her yet again and we were told that she was with a *** i received and email stating the following "The application does not satisfy the bank's credit requirements for the loan concerned based on a credit assessment taking into account our usual credit scoring models". Clearly we have been **** to from the very begginning. We have been chasing and have been avoided on every attempt of finding the outcome of money only to get a response like this???? I want this alleged application investigated. 13 years we have had our home loan with Nedbank, we will now move our homeloan to another financial institution that we would not have to beg for assistance. I am disgusted in how we have been treated as clients and will never recommend this bank to anyone!!
