Judgement Not Removed After 5 Years
I called in regarding the threatening emails I am receiving from Nedbank for the above mentioned account which I opened between 2008 - 2010.
No collections have been made since then only now I am receiving threats that this particular account is still ACTIVE on my Nedbank current account.
According to legislation: A judgment remains on your credit record for 5 years or until it is paid in full or a rescission is granted by the courts. A judgment occurs when a credit provider has successfully taken legal action on an account. This is known as a bad-debt judgment. If there are several months of missed payments, the credit provider can take the matter to court, demanding that payment be made. If the court rules in favour of the credit provider, the judgment will get added to your credit report, along with details such as the case number.
I want this issue to be resolved as soon as possible and this account to be removed as it has been 5 years already. Also I am requesting written confirmation from Nedbank.
