I have an existing current and savings account with another bank and i wanted to open another account with Nedbank on the 14th of March where my salary will be paid into and to open an investment account for my kids. After waiting for an hour to be served i was told that if you are a foreign citizen with a work permit you are not allowed to have another transactional account with any other bank. I was asked to close my other bank account and bring proof of closure. I then requested for other options and i was told the only option is to open a fixed savings account whereby they do not give me any bank card and if i want to access the money its only via transfer to my other account with another bank, and i was suppose to pay R350 for me to be registered with the Reserve Bank and i was told that the fixed savings account can only be opened after the verification on my papers is complete and i was told it would take approximately 35 working days. I did not complete any forms nothing whatsoever. Confused and Disappointed.
