Is Nedbank the crazy ex girlfriend that you will never get rid of?

I now resort to hellopeter as I have exhausted all other ventures.

In December 2017 I wanted to settle my credit card and close the account as I no longer need it. I was told I need to visit a branch to close my account. I then went to a branch and I was then told I need to do a EFT and then phone the bank a week later to confirm that the amount has been settled and that the account can be closed (I am still not sure why I needed to visit a branch to complete that step). nevertheless, I settled the balance, I phoned them, confirmed it was paid, I requested the account to be closed... The operator informed me that I should phone back AGAIN in a week to confirm the account was closed. Which I did and they confirmed the account closure was submitted.

Then came middle January 2018, received a statement for amounts due. Phoned them and explained the whole story where they agreed it was a mistake and the account will be closed and balance cleared.

Then came middle February 2018, received a statement for amounts due. Phoned them AGAIN and explained the whole story where I was told the account closure was never submitted...

Then came middle March 2018... by now I have expected this and asked to speak to a manager who told me the closure was never submitted and at which time they promised the account will be closed. Since I have been **** to up until this point I had no faith whatsoever in this actually happening.

Guess what email I got today?!?? Correct! a Nedbank statement for amounts due. I am not a violent person, but it's things like this that make me understand why people throw things out of windows.

Can I please get answers for what is going on here? i would love to ignore the statements I am getting, but Nedbank seems like the kind of place that would blacklist me for not paying an account that I requested to close multiple times in a 4 month period and then likely charge me the outstanding overdue service fees.

Help?
