insurance claim not paid by nedbank

I bought a house in september 2019 and in November there was rain and discovered that the thatch and the garage were liking and I made a claim in January for them to be fixed and, I was told that, that was the latent defects. I don't understand why cant they contact the previous owner to fix it because I'm paying them.

I requested to cancel the policy because it doe not help me, they are refusing to cancel it for me. I need all my payments back for that insurance.
