Innocent until proven guilty? Nedbank begs to differ.

I recently dealt with Amelia Stadler, who was little to no help at all with an on-going issue I’ve been having.

Some context, 3 months ago I app**** for car finance via Volkswagen. This had happened shortly before my license had been revoked as the issuing officer had been implicated for accepting bribes. This subsequently resulted in a block being put against my name under speculation of ***** by Nedbank. This, I can understand and appreciate. Though having the issue resolved, has proven to be nearly impossible.

Common sense says that, had I been guilty of anything underhanded, I wouldn’t have app**** at one of the most reputable car manufacturers with an invalid license. However, this was not proof enough.

I was then told to go to the licensing department to provide proof of everything I just described. Upon visiting the traffic department, I was told that they had no way of issuing any statements and that I was to go to the police department to obtain an affidavit. I did this and emailed Amelia, very confident that they would be able to make this issue go away, as I had followed, what I thought, was the correct process.

This did not happen.

I was told that they were unable to confirm my innocence, after I had done everything I could to comply with their requests. I was also told that the case had been closed. I feel so disappointed and helpless. I am the victim of something I’ve only ever read about. I’ve not been charged with anything by the police or the traffic department, and yet I am guilty.
