Impossible to reactivate dormant bond!
We app**** for our dormant bond to be re-opened on 8 September 2015. On the first enquiry, Homeloans told my husband if we re-app****,we would have access to our money within 2 days.On 8 Sep,I contacted Homeloans. The story had changed - they needed proof of our home insurance & life cover.
I sent my proof of homeowners insurance through - at 16:09 on 08/09/2015.
The lifecover was a different story.
There I was told we had 3 options -
1. Ceed lifecover to Nedbank - which would take 7 - 10 days
2. Take out new life cover for the duration that the bond is re-open - costing extra money
3. Sign a waiver which would take 3 to 5 working days.
As we already have life cover, we decided the quickest and easiest option would be option 3.
The waiver was submitted on the 9th.
On the 16th we were told that the documents were still in the queue, and the waiver could take up to another 9 days!
By this time we were HIGHLY annoyed as we already had building plans in place and Nedbank had broken promises
On the 23rd we were told that Nedbank has STILL NOT GIVEN US ACCESS TO OUR MONEY AS THEY ARE AWAITING CREDIT APPROVAL.
Today (25th) we're told they are still waiting for our homeowners insurance!
