I had an account balance of R2900 in 2009 that are older than the prescribed term

I had an account balance of R2900 in 2009 that are older than the prescribed term. It has escalated to over R6481 which is a over 231percent increase that the handed over to an attorney in 2024. I dont feel they are acting according to the credit control rules and when I send them emails to bring amount to the correct debt without inflating the balance, they just ignore me and keep sending demands.
