How NOT to create customer loyalty

So here I am being the loyal Nedbank customer using my credit card and accumulating greenbacks points along the way. Nedbank then sends me an sms and tells me that they have capped my points for the month and I must now use another card. This is not my credit limit but the points they allocate to me which have been capped, iow they will no longer give me points for my monthly spend on THEIR credit card.
They advise alternatively using their AMEX card which hardly any merchants accept due to the high merchant fees. I therefore have no option but to use another banks credit card.
What a STUPID move Nedbank. If you don't want me to use your credit card, you're going about it the right way. This move does certainly not create customer loyalty. Thanks for your sms but in future I will use other banks credit cards first and accumulate their points.
I cannot believe that a bank of Nedbank's stature can be so short sighted in their outlook. they offer a reward and then cap it! C'mon...how to lose friends and longterm, loyal customers as the ping of an SMS. Nedbank makes money off every transaction and then chase their customers away telling them not to spend anymore using their card. Nedbank - I'm gobsmacked!
