How NOT to create customer loyalty

So here I am being the loyal Nedbank customer using my credit card and accumulating greenbacks points along the way. Nedbank then sends me an sms and tells me that they have capped my points for the month and I must now use another card. This is not my credit limit but the points they allocate to me which have been capped, iow they will no longer give me points for my monthly spend on THEIR credit card.
They advise alternatively using their AMEX card which hardly any merchants accept due to the high merchant fees. I therefore have no option but to use another banks credit card.
What a STUPID move Nedbank. If you don't want me to use your credit card, you're going about it the right way. This move does certainly not create customer loyalty. Thanks for your sms but in future I will use other banks credit cards first and accumulate their points.
I cannot believe that a bank of Nedbank's stature can be so short sighted in their outlook. they offer a reward and then cap it! C'mon...how to lose friends and longterm, loyal customers as the ping of an SMS. Nedbank makes money off every transaction and then chase their customers away telling them not to spend anymore using their card. Nedbank - I'm gobsmacked!

Thank you for your call. I appreciate your escalation of the matter and trust it is receiving immediate priority as many are being duped out of their Greenbacks. The bank is quick enough to charge the monthly Greenbacks Linkage fee of R18. This fee is charged for full service not part service. If the bank part delivers then part payment from the customer should be app**** equally. Despite the fact that Nedbank may cap their issuing of Greenbacks there is nothing on your site to indicate this. Nedbank Greenbacks members earn Greenbacks on all eligible spend**. **Eligible spend includes local and international purchases and excludes cash withdrawals, foreign exchange purchases, fuel purchases, electronic payments and transfers, casino chip purchases, travellers cheque purchases, fees and finance charges. This is an ********* business practice, misrepresentation, non-disclosure and in contravention of advertising standards. Not a single loyalty card linked to any other bank caps their loyalty program. Nedbank you are chasing your customers away. You make money out of every transaction - why chase your customers away? The business economics and loyalty of the matter are senseless. I spoke with your call centre to ascertain at what amount you cap my greenbacks benefits, no one could give me an answer. This is deceptive and ********* business practice. In favour of ALL Greenbacks customers - Nedbank come clean and fast with your Greenbacks loyalty program
