How does Nedbank Home Loans not have my original title deed to my house!!!
In July this year, I decided to sell my house. Once all paperwork was done and in place, I was told that the process would take approximately 6 to 8 weeks for the monies to reflect in my account, that should have been latest end October 2023. However, there has been a problem and the attorneys seem to all be placing the blame game. According to Namford Attorneys, the originating bond attorneys, Steyn Lyell and Maeyane Inc. lost my original title deed. When requesting a duplicate from them, Steyn Lyell and Maeyane Inc. told Namford Attorneys that they would have to obtain a duplicate from the Deeds Office. Really??? Who destroyed the title deeds ... surely it should have been their responsibility to obtain it seeing they were the ones who destroyed it?! But, my question is to Nedbank ... how do the title deeds sit at an attorneys office ... surely these should have been held by Nedbank! I am going to contact the Ombudsman and take this matter further. This whole process has been held up because of Nedbank, the originating attorneys and the cancellation attorneys. I am sick and tired of hearing stories. Who should have had these title deeds??? Or is this how Nedbank Home Loans work??? You have until tomorrow morning to respond to my questions and let me know who is going to assist me in this regard and start pushing for a duplicate copy of the deeds. I don't care how it is done or how long it is going to take. I want Nedbank and Steyn Lyell and Maeyane to pay for the interest that has been lost because of this whole issue. And I am going to have the worst Christmas ever because people cannot do their jobs. You have until tomorrow morning ....
