Home Insurance Claim

On Monday I was contacted by one of my tenants, as a result of the storms there was a lot of damage to the lapa and garage that she was renting. I phoned Nedbank to make a claim,I said from the start that I wanted to use my own contractor and they said this was OK. I sent Nedbank a quote from my contractor, and Nedbank's assessor was also there. I am still waiting for feedback, my contractor is waiting to complete this job.<br> Yesterday the tenant let me know that the geyser has burst. I phoned Nedbank again, made a claim for the geyser, I asked if I can't get my own plumber, to minimise damages, and Nedbank said no. Now the plumber has fixed the geyser (I paid an excess) and now there is a lot of damages to the ceiling as a result of the geyser. Now I had to make a new claim for the geyser damaging the ceiling, and now I have to pay another excess for the same problem??? A R1000.00!!! This is unacceptable. No one is fixing the lapa or the garage, this is turning into a hazard at this home (where there are small children) and now I have to pay 3 excesses??!
