Handing over of settled credit card to legal

today l was reporting my lost bank debit card and the lady who took my call assisted me with blocking the card. I asked her to check if no money has been withdraw from my bank account and She told me that She is going to transfer me to another person who is going to check if there were no transactions made to the account, only to be made aware that I have been handed over to legal as I am owing the bank.

According to my knowledge, my account has been settle around March after receiving an SMS regarding the account and the Bank has never communicated with me about any outstanding money owed to them.

If I didn't loose my bank account, When was the Bank going to make me aware of this? To me this is bad Service.
