Funeral Plan claim - I was told that the 12 months waiting period was only left with 24Hours for a claim to be valid

I am Dumisani Fulani, I have a funeral plan policy with Nedgroup Life, in which I have covered myself, spouse, mother, grandmother, three siblings, my two kids, and two other relatives.

I started this policy during september 2015, in whereby an acceptance letter dated 28 september was received, and a first premium payment went off against my account on the 25th of October the same year, since then payments has been consistent to the policy.

However on the 27th of September 2016, one of my sibling passed away by natural death, and upon consulting the Parktown Branch in JHB and thereafter the Uitenhage branch of Nedbank, I was unfortunately told that for my claim to be processed it needed "24Hours" for the Waiting Period to finish. therefore my claim was unsuccessful......

This is ludicrous because a twelve month waiting period or any other waiting period should be based on the number of premiums one had paid!.... Also for arguments sake, if its based on the number of months, then 27 September was the last month, seeing that the accepptance letter is dated 28th September 2015!... Whilst it should be bear in mind that the 28th of september was not the date in which I have app**** for the funeral plan, I app**** for that way before the 28th of september which they decided to send me an acceptance letter by.

I have very dissapointed at Nedgroup-Life! its worse for having covered my entire family at this company!
