Full signing authority that does not work.

I went to the branch yesterday to arrange the transfer funds from a cheque account to a new investment account in the same name as the cheque accoount. I have full signing authority on the cheque account and have been operating it since 2008. Much to my surprise the staff there refused to accede to my request, saying that I had no authority to do so, despite the fact that I have full signing authority. They , however, seemed quite willing to let me transfer the funds into an account in my name or withdraw the funds. I was told that the branch manager would contact me to explain the position, but there has been nothing but silence from the bank. I find the bank's action in declining my request very strange, to say the least.
