Frustrated!
I am becoming very frustrated with Nedbank. I was told in a telephone conversation that I had to renew my Mastercard & Amex cards, as they were going to expire at the end of March 2019. I was asked at what branch I would like to collect them at... (I said at Bedfordview). I was sent constant reminders to go to collect them. I work during the week and I work every 2nd Saturday giving me little time to go to collect from the bank. I left it till quite late in March and when I checked my cards that I had on me, I realized that they did not expire this year but in 2021. I then phoned Nedbank (near the end of March) and I was told that the cards were old ones that had been replaced with newer ones and that they had obviously not cancelled them. The lady I spoke to at Nedbank Bedfordview assured me that she would cancel these cards for me and that I needn't worry about it anymore. 2 weeks later, I started receiving sms's again to come and collect my cards... and this morning, I received an sms to say that they have disabled... and I quote "we note that you have not used your card(s) online in the past 12? months. For your safety we have disabled your Nedbank card(s) for online shopping purchases, including scan-to-pay and other QR code payments." I assume that it applies to those older redundant cards... but it may just apply to all my cards! Please sort this out as I am not happy with this situation and I do not have time to go to the bank myself. The last reminder to collect my cards was on the 13th April and the "disabling" sms came this morning. Ulrike Blake
