Failure to honour loan notice validity period as per email

I gave notice on my Nedbank home loan a year ago. The notice period is valid for 12 months. These are facts. I received an email from a *** from Nedbank on 10 May 2018 at 09:12 confirming this notice to cancel my home loan and that it was valid for one year. Today, on 9 May 2018 (within the 12 months period as per the email date), I called Nedbank and spoke to a **** to extend this notice period and was advised that it did not exist as the period had lapsed a week ago. If the period had lapsed, why do I have an email dated 10 May 2018, advising that the notice is valid for a year, if Nedbank is going to backdate the validity period to another date which is not stipulated anywhere in the email!!? I find this unacceptable that the email dated 10 May 2018 advising the validity period of a year is now not being honoured. Had the email stated another date somewhere within the email that the validity period was x date to x date, then of course I would have called within that period to extend the notice, but seeing as Nedbank failed to do so, and the only date in writing to me is the date of the email of 10 May 2018, then this is the only date made aware to myself the customer of the year validity period and as such, should be honoured. Please can Nedbank act with integrity and honour the year validity, as per the email dated 10 May 2018 and extend the notice period on this loan as per my request
