Exploitated for 4 years at Nedbank.

“I worked for Card Authorisations department between 2011 and 2014 as a temp night staff. I have been made aware that Nedbank was meant to pay me a night staff shift allowance, as they did with my ex colleagues and I’ve since been waiting for the bank to make contact with me but to no avail”

This was the exact email I sent to Chamaine Jooste HR Manager: CPT Risk Services and Transactional Nedbank, on the 26th of November 2020, follow up emails were sent throughout December and January asking for feedback but she has still not responded.

In mid December I received just one email from Phumla Stobela who also happens to be an HR Manager, requesting that I send a Copy of my ID, Bank Statement, Duration at Nedbank and my previous employee number, and I responded promptly. However she aswell has decided to ignore the countless emails I’ve sent to the both of them asking for feedback.

The night shift allowance was meant to be paid to us, as it came to our attention that Nedbank was not paying us what was due to us, and that resulted in us being short paid.. How such an oversight would happen at such a big cooperation still baffles me. I’ve tried going the normal route to get some assistance from 2 HR managers but that has yielded no results. I just want the money I worked hard for at Nedbank during my 4 years there, to be paid back to me. The fact that we were exploited by the likes of Rosa Santos and those HR Managers for their own personal gain is sad, but as is the case big cooperations like Nedbank will always pray on the desperate and vulnerable.
