EFT Can take 3 days!
Had some business with a client of Nedbank (I'm with FNB) who paid me via EFT this morning. I still haven't received any payment in my account. Called Nedbank then to enquire as to this unreasonable delay and was advised that an EFT from them can take up to 3 working days! Wow how shocked was I? That in 2020, with all this technology an EFT can still take Nedbank 3 days to clear! If I pay my fiancé (Nedbank) from my FNB account, NOT INSTANT PAYMENT.. the money is usually in within a few hours. Calling their call centre all serves no help as you're just advised to wait it out. Apparently the client can also reverse an EFT, even though I have proof of payment and supp**** goods and services in good faith. The client has the goods, can reverse the EFT and not pay anything for it... leaving me with a massive loss. THIS is the reason why you've got to love FNB and Capitec for their innovative platforms. I want to advise other business owners to be careful of these ancient methods of transacting from this bank. I'll post an update once this EFT has cleared. We couldn't do an instant payment, because their app couldn't tick the instant payment button hence we were FORCED to do the normal transfer. Transaction no ***6/Nedbank/***
