***** Business Process

I app**** for a credit card at a branch, which went through for a credit check. I was informed that it had passed the check, but decided that I no longer required the card. A day or so later I receive an SMS stating that my new card will be delivered to a branch (a completely different branch to the one that I app**** at). I phoned to cancel the card only to be informed that there is a R200 balance in my account that needs to be paid. I understand that there are fees associated with the product, but at no point was I informed that I would be charged for an application that I rejected. Maybe it was a result of misinformation, but it's incredibly worrying that a card can be accepted without the clients approval and that charges are raised without informing the client.
