Do you want to deal with a bank that takes your money or do you want to deal with a bank that takes your money seriously?

I recently returned from Kenya and only when receiving my Nedbank Card statement on 30-08-2021 noticed that my account had been debited with an amount of R6,312-57 on 021-08-2021 which I had not incurred. I queried this with Card division and they responded :- Transaction Summary

Card/Account Number: 460************4 Transaction Type: Sale Transaction Amount: 6,227.08 South African Rand Transaction Status: Approved Local Transaction Date/Time: 08/01/21/00:00:00 Issuer: Nedbank Limited Acquirer: Equity Bank Limited Merchant Name: Kenya Airport KAPS Location: Nairobi 00254 Entry Mode: 05 Integration circuit card read-CVV data reliable Cardholder ID Method: 2 Pin Used to identify an original transaction Authorization Response Code: 00 Approved and completed successfully

The difference is that Nedbank adds their foreign transaction fee. This is absolute nonsense as I past quickly through Nairobi airport on the evening on 30-07-2021, got into a waiting vehicle arranged by our host and was promptly driven to Westlands,a suburb of Nairobi about 30kms away. My card remained within my wallet within my backpack to be used again on 31-07-2021. At no timr did my mobile ping and advise of any transaction. I was at the Masai Mara National park on 01-08-2021.

I took the matter up with Vernon Scheepers, Client Service Manager / Client Service Experience who basically called me a **** but did advise that the matter would be referred to Nedbank Card ***** but despite several requests for the contact details to whom the query has been directed, he refuses to provide this. He also suggests that I take this up with the merchant concerned (of which I have no knowledge neither having ever dealt with).

Knowing corporates, this query is unlikely to ever be finalised and they are hoping this query will eventually fade away. Unless I have a contact name and Scheepers could not give a **** I may have to appeal elsewhere.
