Dissapointed by Nedbank
***
On the 4th of February 2020, I received a call from a Nedbanks ***** Departments consultant asking if I'm aware of funds that are going out of my account for an amount of R7850.00 going to Hollywood Bets. I rep**** that I was not aware of that and I did not have an account with Hollywood Bets. She said that she will block my card and open a ***** case.
I then went to the Springs Branch on the same day to find out what was happening as the funds were for a funeral taking place on that Saturday.
At the branch I was assisted by a consultant in the enquiries , who to my surprise told me that they have been tempering with my account for a some time trying to make payments for different amounts. (why didn't the ***** department notice those attempts and contact me). He even turned his screen so I can see the amounts and what also puzzled him was that the amount in question was sitting as a current balance on my account and could be reversed. That's when he took me to the branch manager, who said she will give me a call after a day which she didn't. The amount of R7850.00 remained hanging on my current balance for a week but on my statement it shows that the funds were released after 2 days on the 6th of February and strange I didn't even get a notification when the funds went out of my account.
I did not receive any form of communication from Nedbank, until I took it upon myself to go to the branch on the 9th of March 4 weeks later to see what was happening. When I enquired at the branch the consultant said I can use the branches phone to call the investigator, which advised that they had already sent a report on the 13th of February to the branch. Again no one took it upon themselves to contact me.
The branch manager said she didn't receive any feedback from the investigator and I should wait while she contacts them. I waited for about 2 hours before she called me back to give me a print out that was dated the 13th of February. I had to wait for about 2 hours for an email to be resent. can a resent take up to 2 hours to be sent. This would get you thinking if the email was really initially sent by the investigator on the 13th of February because I waited almost 2 hours for the email to be resent. You would ask yourself how credible are the findings on that report
The print out from the report states that they can't help me as I pressed the number 1(one) from my phone, which I don't even know what that is. I then sent an email to *** on the 11th of March regarding my the outcome and on the 13th they sent an sms saying that they received my query and Kate Botsane will be working on it. I gave them a weeks allowance to get back to me which they didn't. Then on 23rd of March I contacted Kate Botsane who said she will look into this and it may take 4 to 8 weeks and even more due to the delay caused by COVID19. That's when I called her often in that week pushing to get an answer, then on the 26th of March I received an email from her that they can only offer me R1177.50 instead of R7850.00. How on earth did they come to that amount it puzzles me and they said I must reply within 10 days regarding their offer.
Why did the ***** department in the first place call me to ask if I'm aware of the transaction and advice that they will stop the card. Then they turn around and release the funds. If you don't push Nedbank and contact them they will not bother to contact you. Now they treating this matter as if I'm the one who opened a ***** case with them. Then they turn around and offer me a lousy R1177.50. Is this how Nedbank treats the elderly customers , they don't show any care and never bother to communicate with their client's. I am not happy with how my case was handled, and if need be I will escalate the matter.
