dishonest honouring fees
I was double debited on the 31st by African bank by R6680.51 which left me with a balance of R2200. Knowing that I had debit orders going off on the 2nd I used the Nedbank app to reverse the debit order. On the debit orders tab on the App, the reversal showed as reversed with the neat little 90 degree red arrow and the entre tabbed in slightly. I thought all was good. Monday came and the order was still not reversed. Tuesday morning came, my account showed around -R5580 because the reversed debit order still did not reverse.. My balance before this was +R2200 which could have honoured four of those debit orders yet I was charged for seven debit orders and on top of that for a reversal failing in Nedbank. I talked to four different people, was transferred four times then referred to the branch for the failed reversal. I went to the branch at 9am who referred me back to the credit call centre who referred me to the branch in the first place. The reversals finally showed in the afternoon after I paid the R630 unfairly charged debits and Nedbank managed to reverse both debit orders plus charge me a few then I got the refund from African bank which means I had to pay back two payments. Of the R700 I would have been left with for the month, I am now left with R70 because of no mistake on my side. I cannot afford this kind of gougery and will shortly close this "savvy" bank account as I don't think it is being savvy being a sucker for charges caused by systems that do not work - this never would have happened with Capitec. I am not even going to elaborate about the app that was offline from 5am this morning until after 8. Nedbank, you really need to step up your game if you want to remain in the game.
