Disgusting treatment after the passing of my father
Absolutely appalling treatment of families trying to resolve their deceased parents accounts.
In January this year I went through to the Norwood branch to deal with my father's deceased estate, I had all the relevant documentation with me including originals of his ID, death certificate and my letter of authority. The teller told me that I cannot do this in person and gave me incorrect info on how to resolve this.
Following the teller's incorrect advice I contacted the credit card department and they proceeded to transfer my call around the world until I finally reached a department that apparently handles deceased estates, this department also doesn't seem to take phonecalls as I was left listening to hold music for 30 minutes before my call was eventually cut off.
I attempted the above route a number of times before I gave up on anyone answering my call.
I then contacted Nedbank via facebook, and was promptly told to take the documents into a branch. After some back and forth here I was given an email address. This email address did not work.
After some more back and forth, I eventually managed to get a team leader (***) to contact me. They then requested that I take my original documents, make copies of them, certify them, scan them and email them back to them. This entire process makes no sense.
After some back and forth with the team leader I managed to establish that I could actually take my original documents to the bank.
I then went to Cresta Nedbank on 12/02/2022 with all my original documents and submitted them to Deon Botha (***), after not hearing back from him for a week I sent him a follow up email on 21/02/2022. This email as the subsequent follow up email on 26/02/2022 were ignored.
Deon eventually responded to my next follow up email dated 03/03/2022. I was informed that Nedbank takes 6 weeks to verify the submitted documents.
On 23/03/2022 I started sending follow up emails again as 26/03/2022 marks 6 weeks since the documents were submitted.
Both Deon Botha (***) and Minnie, E. (Ebrahim) *** have ignored my emails sent on the following dates: 23/03, 30/03, 02/04, 05/04.
The service, misdirection and general run around I have received from Nedbank after the passing of my father is absolutely disgusting and I strongly advise anyone to get as far from this bank as possible as even in death your surviving relatives will be put through hell trying to resolve your estate should you pass.
