Disgusting service from Teller 5 at the Nedbank Phoenix branch
On the 13th of April 2021 my 79 year old granny had been to withdraw money, the card had declined. So she had gone to the Phoenix branch to find out what was the problem. Firstly they didn't allow anyone to assist my granny inside the bank. My granny had waited at the Teller 5 for over 45 minutes, my granny had then grew frustrated and anxious as she had been standing at the teller for 45 minutes and the teller had been clueless about what is wrong. The teller had even gone to the extent of asking my granny if she had a newer ID book because she was unsure of the reason for the card keep on declining. My granny had demanded for my Mom who is her daughter in law to assist her, finally they had let her in. When my mom went in the Teller had told them they were offline after a further 10 minute wait. My granny could not stand or wait anymore so we decided to go back another day. When we got home my granny who was highly disturbed thinking that their was something wrong due to her card being repeatedly declined, had noticed that her card has expired a month ago. I had taken her back to the branch today and was referred to the same Teller at Teller 5. I had gone up to the teller with my granny and tried to explain what had happened. The teller was extremely rude to me and was raising her voice, to which my 79 year old granny was appalled. She raised her voice and demanded that I sit on the chair n I can't be anywhere near my granny. My granny is a 79 year old who needs someone to explain to her what is going on. She then asked my granny to sign the form to which my granny turned to call me and she raised her voice and said she will mark where to sign. The teller had expected my granny to sign on the spot she crossed with all the ***** going on without explaining or having my granny to read the form. This is disgusting behavior from the teller who costed us two trips and emotional distress to my granny all due to the fact that she was not competent enough to even realize that the card was expired, and didn't even have the decency to apologize for her incompetence.
