Disappointed, lack of communication skills😔 sad, rude behavior from nedbank insurance!

I registered a claim with nedbank insurance a few days after the kzn flooding as a result of, my home was damaged in multiple areas, interior and exterior and only a portion of my claim was approved (same amount) as many years ago I’m not sure how Nedbank works out inflation, GDP and rapid increases in cost of living.

The reason for my email is because I write this with great regret of the service delivery and communication from consultants and contractors of Nedbank home insurance department, I cannot comprehend the fact that nedbank consultants are so *********** at their jobs, which they are well equipped and qualified for! I would’ve never expected this from an institution of your reputation and size, and especially under the circumstances as this flooding was an extremely serious event that made news nationwide, hence:

I wish to dispute your rejection of my claim on the grounds that my claim from Riverport trading was not considered as the contractor delivered a false claim report and stated damages were old and it wasn’t resultant from the Kzn flooding on the 12th of April 2022.

Firstly, every consultant I spoke to wasn’t knowledgeable of my claim I had to explain myself repeatedly to each and every one consultant that I spoke to because they events were mixed up or either incorrect or false!

Secondly, the dates that I have and what is on the system isn’t authentic. The first contractor ( 2 males ) came over to my property on the 30th of April 2022, measurements were taken and they were shown every damage and photos were taken. Then Riverport trading contacted me and Made an appointment to assess the damages because according to Riverport the quote from the previous contractors wasn’t submitted to insurance.

Riverport trading came to my property on the 25th of May 2022 but the contractor says they came on the 20th of May and nedbank said they received a report on the 23rd of May 2022 so I’m trying to digest the dates because it’s not making any sense to me from all of this events the date’s isn’t adding up there is a loop hole in this claim that I’m not aware off.

Unfortunately my full claim wasn’t processed correctly with sufficient information, had a contractor or inspection come earlier they could’ve seen the extent of the damages.

I hope that once you have done your investigations into the issue, we can come to a mutual agreement about what needs to be done in order to resolve this matter because as a client of nedbank I don’t appreciate this kind of treatment. It’s completely unacceptable, disappointing and time consuming!

I am looking forward to hearing from you soonest. However please be advised that if I do not received a satisfactory response to my claim, I will have no choice but to seek legal assistance from my lawyer and the ombudsman. Although I do hope that it won’t be necessary.
