Deteriorating investment service at Nedbank Gezina leaves inheritance uninvested
I sent my 2 sons, full-time students, on their own for the first time ever because I cannot go with them to the bank forever. The purpose was to properly invest their grandfather's inheritance so that they can use the interest while the capital amount is safe. Preferably tax-free because they are young students. The investment service they received at Gezina branch was horrible. "Don't you have the app", what a condescending tone! They don't have the app because this is their first visit on their own and YOU did not help them get an app or anything, it's YOUR job. The tax-free deposit advertised could not be found by the consultant so that's it, they must just get along without it. What happens to the interest was never explained to them and the print-out says "N/A" about it. The choice of investment made was poor because communication between them and the consultant was poor. The English of both brothers is rated as excellent ****erally top of the class), they are not the problem. The brothers are together because one is cripple on crutches, yet his helper was sent away by Nedbank's staff. One transaction was concluded instead of three, and the experience was hurried and awful so they rather left. This is not how banking at Nedbank used to be and not how it should be. The only plus was the usher let them in due to the crutches. Your consultants on the phone are just as ungainly now, only email please: janmconradie at gmail dot com.
