Denial of a dispute
I am writing to formally dispute an unauthorized debit order that was processed from my account. I did not enter into any agreement with the company that debited my account, and I did not give consent for this transaction.
When I called your support line to have the debit order reversed, I was informed that it is not reversible and that I must go to a police station and log a case. I find this unacceptable and confusing for the following reasons:
This is a clear case of unauthorized access to my account.
As the account holder, I have a right to dispute any debit order that was processed without my consent.
It is the responsibility of the bank's ***** department to investigate such transactions, not the SAPS alone.
I am seeking a simple dispute and reversal of an unauthorized transaction — a process that is common and supported by most banks.
I respectfully request that Nedbank:
Initiate a formal dispute of the transaction,
Reverse the debit amount immediately pending investigation,
Investigate the matter through your ***** and risk department,
Provide me with a reference number for this complaint/dispute.
I would appreciate it if you could treat this as a matter of urgency. I am happy to provide any further details you require.
