Delay in obtaining electricity voucher
On Saturday afternoon I purchased R1000 electriciy fom NedBank via the internet. I have used this facility many times without a problem. The transaction was reflected on my statement, but the voucher did not appear on the voucher list. After several unsucessful atempts to obtain the voucher over the next hour, I contacted NedBank customer service. I was told that for some reason the transaction had not been updated (I gathered this is not an infrequent problem) and that the consultant would notify the relevant dept on Monday, and that it would take 2 working days (ie Tues) to update the transaction. This was totally unacceptable. I anticipated we would run out of electricity probably by Monday or before. We live on a farm. There are 2 other tenant families. Without electricity we would have no running water, inter alia. I checked my account again several times on Sunday, still no voucher. Today, Monday midday, the voucher had appearedon the voucher list. Hooray! the crisis was avoided. This is another example of shoddy service from NedBank. It seems they have computer problems.
