Delay in assessment of property800104

I am in the process of selling my property. Nedbank valued the property and placed a hold on the bond subject to two areas being damproofed. Both areas had minor water damage but seeing as the Nedbank assessor clearly assumed the house would collapse if this was not done, the prospective owner comp**** with the request. Six weeks after the work was done Nedbank had still not inspected the property as the assessor was on leave for a month ( with clearly no one to do her work in her absence). Despite numerous requests to send another assessor out they refused to. This meant that new cancellation figures, rates clearances certificates etc needed to be secured. Eventually when they did inspect , the assessor advised in a single sentence (i was expecting a detailed report after the delay) that she did not approve the work. In spite of requests to specify exactly what she was unhappy about, there was no response. The prospective owner therefore redid the work. The assessor went again more than a week ago and again has not filed an approval/disapproval. In the meantime I have signed an offer to purchase on a property and am in breach of the agreement as I do not have the funds from the proceeds of this property to use as a deposit towards the new property. My conveyancing attorney has requested bond cancellation figures and rates clearance three times in light of this delay on Nedbank's part. In total, the transfer of my property has dragged on for over 5 months which must surely be the most delayed transfer in history. I am appalled and outraged by Nedbank's lack of efficiency in dealing with a straightforward manner. Oddly enough, i was so impressed by their adverts that I had been thinking of moving my account to them. Needless to say I shall never ever contemplate using this bank after this shocking experience.
