My elderly mother retired and settled her bond in May Last year. Today she received a statement for an amount of R 8534.64 and when we called the Call Centre to query the amount, we are told that's because she never closed her account. Please advise : why was she not told that paying off her bond does not end the contract? Why would she keep that contract just so that she can incur unnecessary fees every month?
