Customer Half Support

On the 18th of July 2016 I've sent this email :

Good Day

I really do not understand why Nedbank has SMS Notification system in place if it is so ridiculous, I understand the fact that it should notify me of bank transactions that go through , then would someone please explain to me why is it that on some purchases I get an sms and others not at all, some 2 days after the transaction has been processed, yes you are going to say that is when the merchant banked the transaction then I will say I’ve been with other bank and moved to Nedbank My Business Account , My personal Account and Credit Card is with Nedbank but other bank gave sms as soon as transaction has been processed but with Nedbank only 1 out of 10times a sms or its 2days late or it (like Usual) never comes.

Im getting fed up of this and not even to mention to available balance on sms , mobile bank and on internet banking are 3 different amounts ???

Late last year I had a query that I think it was R180 something that was totally gone out of my account the Nedbank representative told me some storie and when questioning that I did not even got response!!

I’m tired of the service I’m getting from Nedbank if this how I’m going to be treated as a customer then I will definitely move to another Bank.

Plus when moving my account they told me once off fee per month and unlimited free eft and sms notifications, as I asked speciffacly for these services as I Import a few things monthly, to only see that there are charges on eft and got an sms stating WEDNESDAY 29 June 2016 “We want to enroll you for FREE SMS notifications on transactions exceeding R500 as an added benefit on your Nedbank Credit Card” ??

Lastly , when I bought my POS Merchant why did you send me the oldest model you have ,seeing that a Technician that installs the Merchant devices asked me why do I have this old machine and its still in good shape.

My answer it is what Nedbank sent me most likely there oldest stock.

I hope someone will see to the sms problem ASAP as it is very irritating and can just as well switch off seeing that it is useless.

_______________________________________________________

On the 19th I got this Reply

Good day

Thank you for your communication; we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns with regards the e-Note facility.

A document on this facility is attached for ease of reference.

The Current Account service fee structure is also attached.

With the below example of transactions (overnight transactions), notification will only be sent in the morning:

1. Notifications of transactions that have been processed overnight will only be sent to your cell-phone the following morning (so as to avoid waking you up at 2 am.).

2. Transfers conducted by a branch (e.g. transferring money from an investment or home loan account to a current account) are processed overnight and therefore you will receive an e-Note the following morning.

3. Debit orders and stop orders are also processed overnight and will be sent out the following morning.

4. Some store owners and businesses batch their payments overnight, which means that you may make a purchase at 14:00, but only have the debit come off your account overnight. Therefore you will only receive an SMS notification for the till point transaction the following morning.

With regards to deposits, depending on how the money is being deposited into the clients account dictates when the client will receive the notification.

1. If the deposit is being done in a Nedbank branch (e.g. Teller) the client will receive notification as soon as the transaction is completed at the Teller.

2. If the money is being transferred from another bank the notification will only be sent the following morning so as not inconvenience the client by sending a notification in the middle of the night or early morning.

1. Notifications for transfers are sent to clients (e.g. transferring money from an investment or home loan account to a current account). These transactions are processed overnight and therefore the client will receive a notification the next day.

2. Live transactions (i.e. ATM withdrawals etc.) take priority over batch transactions (i.e. salary, debit order, stop order etc.) which are also processed overnight. The notifications for batch transactions will only be sent out the next day.

The scenario is dependent on how the “merchant” processed the transactions, i.e. were they swiped or card inserted for duration of the transaction; one must also take into account that merchants determine their own security parameters (floor limits) and should a transaction be below a certain value they determine, this may not necessarily dial in for authorisation. One also has to take into account, is that a merchant may bank with another institution; they also determine as to when their device “banks”; bearing in mind transactions performed after hours, weekends and on public holidays may also result in a delay.

True to Nedbank’s commitment to deliver client value, we are changing the way eNotes and No Funds Alert messages are being sent to our clients; clients will see new refreshed notification messages which will deliver a better, more use-friendly representation of transactions and account balances.

Regards

_______________________________________

Same day I rep****

GOOD DAY

Do not know if this is copied and pasted , as it is still not the answer on my question seeing that I’ve already stated most of these points and then on the otherside , there are more than one question , making me believe my email was not read fully so you send me a copied and paste email and be on your way.

Clearly there are no care about customers.

____________________________

Today is the 25th of July 2016

Still no Reply.

Think its time to switch banks what do you think NEDBANK ??
