Credit Report not updated
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the incorrect reporting of my Nedbank Personal Loan ***. In September 2025, I requested a settlement quotation for the above-mentioned account. The outstanding balance at the time was R16,096.00, and I was granted a settlement discount of R1,650.00. I subsequently paid the agreed settlement amount of R14,446.00 in full.
However, my credit profile reflects that I paid R14,446.00 and still shows an outstanding balance of R1,650.00, which is the settlement discount amount that was granted to me. This is incorrect, as the account was settled based on the agreed settlement terms.
I have been attempting to resolve this matter since October 2025. I have contacted Nedbank almost weekly and have repeatedly been informed that the matter would be escalated. Unfortunately, this has not been done, and my credit profile remains inaccurately updated.
In an effort to resolve this, I even requested that the account be reopened so that I could pay the R1,650.00 settlement discount, purely to correct my credit profile. This request was not granted as I was informed the account is closed on their end.
Most recently, I was assisted by Cindy Maxele from the Legal Department, who stated she would call me by 20 February 2026 to provide feedback regarding this matter. The business day has now concluded, and I have not received any communication. To date, since the inception of this issue, no effective resolution has been provided.
This ongoing failure to correct inaccurate credit reporting is prejudicial to me and may negatively impact my financial standing. I therefore formally request that:
1. My credit profile be immediately corrected to reflect that the account was settled in full in accordance with the agreed settlement terms.
2. Written confirmation be provided to me once the correction has been submitted to all relevant credit bureaus.
3. A clear explanation be given as to why this matter has not been resolved despite numerous follow-ups.
Thank you, Ntombi - ***
