Credit cards can't be closed because the entire department is on leave

On 3 January, i phoned Nedbank American express Credit Card Department to close my Credit card, and transfer my Funds that were in credit to another account. A week later nothing had been done. Everytime i phone, The call centre will give me a new reference number and tells me they will escelate it to the right department. Another weeks later they telling me that the department that closes cards was closed because everyone was on leave. (That was 3 weeks into january). I phone every 4 to 5 days and constantly get told that it will be closed in 24 - 48 hours. They refuse to forward me to that department. It is now a month later, and my Credit card is still not closed and i have paid fees on a card that should have been already closed.

Thank you Nedbank for Resolving this issue so swiftly. From the time i posted my complaint to it being sorted was quick. I appreciate that the Resolution manager took the time to help resolve my issue, pity that the rest of the business didn't have the same attitude through out the business.
