credit card that was paid and closed off in feb

In February 2015 i called in and requested the closing balance on credit card number *** and i was told its r2,878.23 and i even received an email from Nicole Dorkins from the retail recoveries. I paid the amount and called to confirm if they received the payment and i was told the account its closed i can cut the credit card and throw it in a bin.Only 8 months down the line i receiv<br> ed an sms saying the is an amount of r40 that is due on my credit card i called the number on the sms which is *** i am told the was an amount i owed on the credit card but they cannot see anything further on that account caused its handed over to card legal recoveries and they transfer me i was transferred 7 times and i get disconnected without speaking to anyone.I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW DO I PAID A CREDIT CARD AND CLOSE IT AND 8 MONTHS AFTER I STILL OWE A CREDIT CARD THAT I DON'T HAVE.
