Credit card repayment term

i have a credit card with Nedbank which is in arears and i would like to start paying it but the arrear amount is more, i spoke to my private banker from FNB and he suggested that i ask Nedbank to extend the credit card term to 60 month so that the repayment can be lower, can someone please assist, FNB also wanted to pay it off but they cant because the account is in arrears. they say they can only pay it off once i have spoken with Nedbank
