credit card on hold

my American express credit card was retrieved by the ATM and had to order a new one, there is hold on this new card, i did FICA my details and was told the hold will be removed. *** was given to me. i called today twice i was send from pillar to post no one can tell me what is happening, because I still can't use my card.
