Could not care less attitude with horrible service delivery
I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the claim process on my home owners insurance. I logged a claim with Nedbank on the 20th May for a visible water leak on my outside wall.
A plumber came out to attend and fixed a leaking pipe. After the pipe was fixed the wall was still wet. It was explained to me that because the initial pipe was fixed a new claim had to be submitted. I submitted a new claim and the plumber once again attended and fixed another pipe. I left it a few days to see if the wall would dry but it was still wet. I had to then log another claim with Nedbank for the plumber to come attend. The plumber came out and investigated further and has found another pipe to be leaking which is now going to require me to log another call. Each time the plumber comes out I get hit with a R500 excess fee.
This is unacceptable. I logged a call because I have a leak, I expected that this would be handled under one claim and under one call out from the plumber. It should not matter what steps need to be taken to fix the issue but at the end of the day I want the problem resolved. It is now one month later and I am still sitting with a leak, water damage on my walls and gaping holes all over my shower. The reason I pay a lot of money for insurance is so that these types of issues are handled seamlessly and timeously.
I logged a complaint with Nedbank on June 26 and was assured this would be resolved. It is now almost two weeks later and still nothing. I have been a loyal customer for many years and this is how I am getting treated. Why is no-one at Nedbank taking me seriously and treating me like a client they want to retain.
You would think at a time where banking and insurance services are plentiful that focus would be placed on good service delivery to set one self apart from the rest of the competition. Time to look into banking and insurance options where I might be valued and get the service I am due.
