*******ION EXPERIENCED AT NEDBANK - NEWCASTLE BRANCH

Nedbank (Newcastle branch) was the bank where I opened a 32-day account so as to save money. The other year when i wanted to make a deposit of R15000 into my existing 32-day account i was made aware of the charges I would have incurred for each and every R100 deposited, so the lady-employee ( i can't remember her name) advised me to open another account and so she transferred me to her colleague by the name of Thabo. She even asked Thabo to choose me an account with better interest. Thabo took my ID book, the cash of R15 000, and asked me to take a seat where people wait to be assisted. When he came back to me he did not explain anything like the type of account he had opened for me or even the maturity date of that account. He explained nothing except for giving me that small receipt Nedbank issues you when you have deposited money and my ID book. I did not sign any forms like you usually sign and initial at the bottom of each page when you have opened an account at Nedbank. The problem started a year later when i received the statement of account of my old 32-day account and not receiving the second statement for the second account. I immediately went to Nedbank but to the Newcastle Mall branch. They were able to locate only one account, i.e. the 32-day account and stated that i should go to the branch where I opened the other account because it's not on their system. I went there spoke to the same lady who assisted me by transferring me to Thabo. She called Thabo, when I explained to Thabo, he was kind of speechless and scared, he seemed like he had seen a ghost. That to me was a sign of guilt. I could not take the matter up with Nedbank because I no longer had that small receipt Thabo gave me after taking my money. That is how I lost my hard earned money to Thabo. I just gave notice to the bank that i was closing my 32-day account and I wanted nothing to do with Nedbank till this day
