Corperate bullying at the highest level by Nedbank Legal

My company Fresh Earth Bake House has recently experienced first hand what its like to be bul**** by a corporate, in this case Nedbank.

Having traded successfully through most of the COVID-19 challenges, we lost a court case with one of our suppliers of which we have an appeal pending in the Gauteng High Court on the judgment. This sets aside the judgement until the appeal is heard. However NEDBANK legal says otherwise (despite the law being clear) they have frozen our accounts and crippled a small prosereous business. Nedbank knows its actions are dubious and said we must approach a court to get a judge to rule that our account must be opened, knowing that we do not have access to our funds or the extra 60k it will take to approach the court. A classic case of corporate bullies. Despite many attempts to talk to Nedbanks legal team personally with our attorneys Nedbank Legal simply ignored our request. Our relationship manager did his absolute best to assist us however Nedbank legal in their arrogance refused grant us a meeting.

The consequence of Nedbanks actions is the potential closing of valuable business to the South African economy. We employ 50 good people all of whom depend on our business during these tough times. All the while Nedbank Legal fat cats who draw down massive salaries will sail through this festive season un*****ed by their immoral behaviour. I suspect they will account to a much higher power down the line for the behaviour in this life time.

I feel it pertenant to make this story public (Sunday Times and 702 to follow) as we have a meaningful story to tell and I suspect that it will make for great reading. Running businesses in South Africa has never been more difficult, the problem is compounded by banks in this case Nedbank who show no compassion, support or even a willingness to listen. The bank has made so much money out of our business, at least 100X the value of their exposure.

I am devasted beyond belief that myself and our company can be treated in this manner.
