Continuing to complicate Banking

Today i forgot my online banking pin. I then had the misery of calling the Nedbank online banking helpline. the great news? they could reset my pin. the best news? I would then not be able to do any transaction until i go into the branch. This is apparently for my own security, yes, I am going to have to endure a painful hour-if i'm lucky-in the branch just so they can allow me access to my funds.

Imagine if I had been in the middle of an important transactio, and after banking hours? Once again, Nedbank continues to find ways to make banking as painful as possible.

Reviewer Update

I currently have an account with FNB. this is despite that they dont even have a branch in my area, the closest branch to me is almost 30kms away, while Nedbank has a branch no more than a km away. I have thought about moving my account to Nedbank, especially as my car is financed byb MFC and so therefor it would make sense, but each time I think i can, something like thsi happens. Nothing about banking with Nedbank is easy, simple or convenient. Somehow, your sysytems always force customers to HAVE to go into the branch. In 2016. Where does one find the time, because I have never spent less than 30minutes in the branch, even for the smallest thing. I must now go into the bank in order to be able to transact via my online banking, how does that make sense? I must take time out of my work hours to go insisde the branch, to activate a service that is supposed to be as smooth and less complicated as possible?

Maybe it's true, that Nedbank caters to an older generation that prefers doing things the old way.
